Our vision is brought to life through a carefully planned series of projects designed to achieve self-sufficiency and create a thriving, sustainable community. We are focused on reducing expenses in our kitchen, for water and electricity services, and for fertilizers and infrastructure. Follow our journey through its distinct phases.
Phase 1 (0-1 Year): Laying the Foundation
Cacao Plantation:
Planting 500 cacao trees, learning grafting techniques, and using plantain for shade.
Paths and Trails:
Building accessible paths and trails throughout the property with natural materials.
Traditional Ranchos:
Constructing two traditional «ranchos» using palm leaves and locally sourced materials.
Bamboo Nursery:
Establishing a nursery to supply our own seeds and seedlings for consumption and reforestation.
Poultry Enclosures:
Building enclosures for poultry with efficient, low-maintenance water systems.
Phase 2 (1-2 Years): Growing Our Infrastructure
Bio-Construction:
Building two dry toilets and a reception office using sustainable techniques.
Bio-planters & Vermicompost:
Creating bio-planters and a dedicated space for worm composting to enhance our organic fertilization.
Phase 3 (3-4 Years) & Our Long-Term Vision
Permaculture Center:
Becoming a certified center for sustainable practices.
Local Alliances:
Partnering with local entrepreneurs to support the three Maleku communities.
Organic Production:
Developing our own organic fertilizers and a small-scale chocolate brand.
Food Sovereignty:
Achieving a daily production of 200 eggs and elaborating fermented products.
