Guardians of the Forest
- Our 3.5-hectare land is a sanctuary. We are deeply committed to protecting this rich habitat and the incredible creatures that call it home. Our name honors the «Afela» – the Great Green Macaw – and its protection is one of our highest priorities.
- A Biodiversity Hotspot: AFELA i Ú is an eBird Hotspot with records of over 120 bird species, plus countless pollinators, amphibians, and reptiles.
- Our Conservation Goal: We are seeking partnerships to protect the Great Green Macaw and the Maleku natural corridor, with the long-term goal of creating a foundation dedicated to forest conservation.
